Oil and Gas Upstream Topsides, Subsea Critical Applications and Midstream Isolation Service Valves

The Oil and Gas industry captures a broad range of applications, which then demands Cornerstone to respond with the ability to deliver reliability solutions suitable to these applications. Primarily, the topsides industry requires valves to isolate and control media in various applications, such as wellheads, pipelines, and processing units. And this without fail, ensuring safe process movement, environmental considerations, and overall operational efficiency. We offer the non-standard element here by meeting those tight envelope spaces, shorter face-to-face dimensions, high cycles, and in some cases, a demand for in-line repairability. Our Asset Management group, along with accredited partners, remain available to support installed base in the US, Offshore, and Globally for valves that remain performing without fail for over 30 years!

Our products for Oil & Gas Topside and Subsea include:

  • TE1 Series -Top Entry 1-Pc Ball Valves

  • TE3 Series – Top entry 3-Pc Ball Valves

  • EE Series – End Entry Ball Valves

  • FB Series – Side Entry Floating Ball Valves

  • D-Trim – Rotary Control Valves/Throttling/Chokes

Case Studies

A customer asked Cornerstone to help resolve a problem in accessing their subsea pig launcher/receiver skids.

They could not control the exact orientation of the skid in 5000 foot water depth. The un-predictablility of working at this depth meant that the ROV buckets on the valves might end up facing the bottom – making them inaccessible.

Cornerstone designed and manufactured valves with dual stems/ROV buckets allowing for multi-orientation accessibility. Problem solved!

In a major oil field find in South America, the operating company needed to maintain field production pressures by compressing and re-injecting natural gas.

Cornerstone was called upon to supply the high pressure (API 10K) hub-end ball valves in several sizes. After several years of operation, a number of other brands of valves developed multiple seal failures causing both leak-through and external leaks. But not Cornerstone’s!

Cornerstone’s trunnion mounted valves continue to work – many installed more than 15 years ago.

Cornerstone encouraged a major Oil/Gas producing customer to utilize the Top Entry, In-Line Serviceable Valves with Integral Hub Ends.

The resulting skids took advantage of these valve features by carefully planning space for internal removal and reinstallation of valves and saved an additional service level in the major skids.

The installation of 140+ high pressure valves saved more than 100 tons of weight. In a budget to float each pound at  $2.30 per pound, total savings exceeded $460,000.
