A customer asked Cornerstone to help resolve a problem in accessing their subsea pig launcher/receiver skids.
They could not control the exact orientation of the skid in 5000 foot water depth. The un-predictablility of working at this depth meant that the ROV buckets on the valves might end up facing the bottom – making them inaccessible.
Cornerstone designed and manufactured valves with dual stems/ROV buckets allowing for multi-orientation accessibility. Problem solved!
In a major oil field find in South America, the operating company needed to maintain field production pressures by compressing and re-injecting natural gas.
Cornerstone was called upon to supply the high pressure (API 10K) hub-end ball valves in several sizes. After several years of operation, a number of other brands of valves developed multiple seal failures causing both leak-through and external leaks. But not Cornerstone’s!

The resulting skids took advantage of these valve features by carefully planning space for internal removal and reinstallation of valves and saved an additional service level in the major skids.
The installation of 140+ high pressure valves saved more than 100 tons of weight. In a budget to float each pound at $2.30 per pound, total savings exceeded $460,000.
