LNG and Cryogenic Temperature Range and Media Capability Valves
Our valves, including our well-known “floating trunnion-supported” extreme temperature range ball valve, along with more commonly demanded side entry ball valves, are engineered to meet the challenges of extreme low temperatures in LNG export facilities. They ensure the safe isolation of LNG lines, preventing leaks and maintaining the integrity of cryogenic infrastructure. Gas processing and blowdown systems must be manufactured to withstand temperatures of -50°C to -196°C and below. Cornerstone Valve’s symmetrical component design permits uniform expansion and contraction. Live-loaded seals allow for intense dimensional changes yet assure closure tightness.

A company producing and processing natural gas in North Africa’s punishing conditions required a set of carefully designed and fully tested valves to give consistent shut-off results when operating at -150°F in a fractionating plant.
Specially engineered Cornerstone valves were created and rigorously tested by an independent valve testing company. The customer’s engineer witnessed the full valve testing sequences in a submerged liquid nitrogen bath. The 6″ valves were the tightest the facility had ever tested in their many years of performing cryogenic tests. Today in North Africa, Cornerstone valves perform as flawlessly as in the lab.
